The first post with this title turned out to be “part 1“, so this one’s going to focus more on the original point – where “maybe bi” came from as a pen name.
It seems to me that “bisexuality” is essentially a sexual thing. That is, if you want to have sex with people of both sexes, or if they at least turn you on, then the shoe fits.
Now, before anyone squawks, I’d say that there’s also people who are romantically attracted to both sexes – “biromantics”? It’s the same as “She’s hot – I’d do her but I wouldn’t date her” – a split between love and lust. I’m pretty sure that I don’t have any romantic attraction to guys.
With “biromanticism” ruled out, that leaves “bisexuality”. Do guys turn me on? It really depends on the guy(s) and what the guy(s) are doing.
Guy running down the street with his shirt off, good chest and tan – my real reaction is “wish I looked like that”. That doesn’t seem especially sexual…. surely the “sexual” response would be “wish I could go over there and play with that”?
Picture of two guys f***ing – a little more of a turnon. Less so than pictures of a guy and a girl doing the same things.
Picture of two brothers, clothes on (like this one {SFW}): Definitely a nice picture. I like the idea of feeling comfortable being that close to my “brother”. (And indeed we are comfortable being that close.)
Picture of two brothers, clothes being pulled off (like this one {NSWF!}): Definitely not. But maybe it’s just the public exposure that’s turning me off.
Video on YouTube of two guys stuffed into a shower together – naked and soapy. Neither anything sexual, nor anything antisexual – sounded like they knew each other well and they simply didn’t care that the skin against theirs carried both X and Y chromosomes. That is what I like the idea of.
Pictures of brothers holding hands, from Flickr: Sure looked like fun to me.
It was telling, I thought, that they were all kids. It stops at puberty, because suddenly touching is for sex.
